The Dhuys Sculpture Garden
On the banks of the Marne, in Chessy, discover the Jardin de sculptures de la Dhuys, a vast park featuring numerous limestone sculptures by French sculptor Jacques Servières.
Strolling through the Jardin de sculptures de la Dhuys, you can admire some forty monumental sculptures, some of them 4 metres high. The works are divided into two groups: one part is set out on a lawn, the other along a 200m-long path between a field and the Marne. These sculptures represent animals (real or mythical) as well as human figures, creating a fascinating whole shrouded in mystery.
For the anecdote, the sculptor Jacques Servières reused stones from an old aqueduct-bridge that crossed the Marne, bombed and destroyed during the Second World War.
