Discover the Ourcq Canal

Built in the 19th century, the Ourcq Canal is a canal of the Paris Basin. 96km long, it links Mareuil-sur-Ourcq to the Bassin de La Villette. A favourite with nature lovers, it's one of the must-see sites in Greater Paris!

The Ourcq Canal, the longest canal in Paris

On foot

The Ourcq Canal is lined with 80km of paths and towpaths that are sure to delight walkers and hikers! From sunrise to sunset, enjoy the lush, green countryside.

What's more, the walk is accessible to all the family: the path is flat and all you have to do is walk straight along the Ourcq Canal!

By bike

For peace of mind when cycling, take the Ourcq Canal cycle path!

It links Pantin to Tremblay-en-France. You can hire a bike from a rental firm near the Canal de l'Ourcq, or opt for a Vélib (self-service bicycle hire scheme) outside Pantin station (RER E).

By boat

Become captain for a day on board a licence-free electric boat with a freshwater sailor.

Several options are available: 5, 7, 9 or 11-seater. You can take off for an hour, three hours or a whole day! You can even order an aperitif basket to add a gourmet touch to your cruise!

Another alternative is a 2h15 cruise on the Ourcq Canal, departing from the Bassin de la Villette.
